Los Angeles Nightlife - I Went, I Partied, I Conquered

One thing I really love about Los Angeles is the nightlife. I mean, I’ve partied at God-knows-how-many nightclubs everywhere in my entire life, but nothing compares to those that pepper LA. Not that the music, ambience, drinks or food are any better than those in, say, New York City, but if you’re hitting the scene in the City of Angels, there’s a bigger chance you’ll bump into, or in some instances, get barfed on by celebrities who are by no means angels. Far from it.

Like the one night I spent at the Hyde Lounge, or simply Hyde. As I was chatting it up with some cute guy who bought me a margarita at the bar, I caught a glimpse of Paris Hilton trying to dance, obviously drunk or stoned. The funny thing is, nobody was actually paying her any attention. Maybe its because she’s a terrible dancer, or the crowd has already gotten used to her crap they don’t give a damn anymore. Neither do I, so I shifted my attention back to my cute guy, and whaddaya know, we were dancing ten minutes later. The place is quite tinier than most clubs I’ve been to, but I didn’t really care. The drinks were delish, the service was great, and I saw Paris make a fool of herself. What’s to complain about? And oh, I got the guy (wink, wink!).

One LA club I wouldn’t mind going back to is Les Deux. I had one really fun night there when, for some strange reason, the DJ played 80s party music night all night long! Now you can call me whatever you want, but 80s music is one of my greatest guilty pleasures, since they remind me of my mom, who used to play “Melt With You” and other 80s hits full blast as I was playing in the yard as a kid. Anyway, that night was celebrity-free (thank God!), although I heard perennial tabloid fodders Lindsay Lohan and those annoying pseudo-celebrities from “The Hills” frequent the place.

So what else? Oh, Area! My friend took me there even though I didn’t wanna go, but I was glad she dragged me out of bed. At least I got to enjoy the very open, airy space, something that isn’t that common among nightclubs. And I kinda liked the layout of the club: Dance floor in the middle, tables around the edge, and a smoking area on the side. The wait staff was lovely as well. My friend pointed out one skinny blonde girl with fake breasts that were too big for her frame, and told me she was Heidi-something from The Hills, but I don’t watch the show, so I didn’t really care - she looked more like the run-of-the-mill Los Angeles escort to me. But when somebody said something about Usher being in the house, I got out of my seat and looked around, and there he was, looking oh-so sexy in a white long-sleeved shirt. He was a bit shorter than I expected though, but utterly yummy nonetheless.

Other LA nightclubs that I regularly go to include Chez Jay’s, Club 740, A.D., Mood and Opera. These are actually just some of the hottest spots in L.A., and it’s not just because they’re frequented by celebs from the A-List to the F-List. But don’t just take my word for it. Check them out yourself, and you might just get lucky in more ways than one.
